Trench Town

The weather has been all over the place lately so I've blatantly ignored all weather apps and notices - so I was completely oblivious to the fact that it would be raining cats and dogs today. Good thing I wore a trench! I think the best thing about Fall is the ability to layer the most unexpected things and totally get away with it. I'm obsessed with this lightweight trench from Renvy, which I've paired with a high-low hem jersey knit dress from Forever21.

Dramatic Draping

Back to black and a bit of dramatic draping. Definitely need to hem this dress but there's something so stately about a trailing hemline. That is, until you have to turn to the person behind you in line at Starbucks and ask nicely if they can step off your dress. At least the 8-inch heels help!

Going Graphic

Feeling a little more colorful today after a couple days of all-black-everything. And the inspiration may or may not have come out of a closet clean-out session where I discovered way too many pieces with tags still on them. Oops...

Skater Girl

Top: ASOS Turtleneck Crop Top | Skirt: Topshop | Sunglasses: Tom Ford Anastasia | Bag: Emily Cho Nano Lady T | Shoes: Libertine for ALDO Rise

The monochromatic theme continues! I'm loving wearing black + white even more now that my hair is bright purple. Had so much fun twirling around in this skater skirt too! I also dug out these platform babies that were a part of a limited collaboration of Libertine for ALDO Rise. By far one of my favorite pairs of shoes of all time!

Murdered Out

Cloudy weather makes me want to bundle up and hide under my duvet and watch horrible television all day. I guess the next best thing is an all-black-everything outfit and a pretty serious jacket? Oh, and a bag with some attitude helps too. I've had this Alexander Wang Rocco bag for years and it's still one of my all-time favorites. It's the perfect size to throw everything inside while still looking super-chic.

Monochromatic Monday

Feels like it's finally Fall here in NYC! Cool breezes finally merit a jacket. I'm wearing a thicker ponte-knit version from Elizabeth and James over a basic white tee and skinny jeans from McGuire (my new denim brand obsession). Since I live in black and white only, I figured I'd play up the color in my hair a bit! Went for a pink and purple fade courtesy of my amazing colorist. Disregard the awfully-matched hair tie and the bazillion flyaways.

The Real Emmy Winners

Individual Images via NY Mag The Cut and Getty Images

The Emmy Awards happened last night and let's be honest, there's a good chunk of us that watch it purely for the fashion moments. I've rounded up my favorites in the above composite and they range from Lady Gaga's sleek, elegant black number to Sarah Paulson's fully sequined gown. Congratulations to everyone that won!

Blue Jean Baby

Nothing like a casual Friday to get you ready for the weekend. Distressed denim? Check. Easy black tee? Check. Aviators? Check! I'm obsessed with One Teaspoon's Awesome Baggies. After being loyal to only skinny jeans for years it was weird getting used to the fit on these boyfriend jeans. Not going to lie, I now want them in every single wash. Feeling it's all too casual? Pair them with a pair of nude heels and voila! Insta-chic. Also, I've been carrying around this little Emily Cho nano satchel because it still magically fits everything I want to carry but is also so teeny-tiny and adorable.

Uptown/Downtown

Sometimes, in life, there are events uptown. And you find yourself being a very 'downtown' person who may or may not consider leather moto jackets and Stan Smiths to be their best friends. So you search your closet for some ladylike silhouettes  - and you end up with a little something like what I wore, give or take a few edgy accessories.

The event in question was none other than the in-person preview of Heritage Auction's lot showcase for their upcoming event.
If you can picture a dream closet, that's what this looked like. Set in the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion on the Upper East Side, there were room-fulls of diamonds, rare luxury bags, music memorabilia (hello, Elvis's jumpsuit), and of course -- champagne. Want a sneak peek? Take a look below!

Round & Round We Go

I've never been a print-happy person but there's something about black and white polka dots that immediately remind me of Comme des Garçons and their super-sleek minimalist style. The round Illestevas I featured in my last post make a second appearance here -- I just can't get enough of them! I'm definitely pushing it with the bomber (the weather has been all over the place) but as soon as I felt the first cool breeze of Fall I was already halfway-done, pulling my leather jacket collection out of my closet.

Libertine S/S 2016 Final Walk Through

Fashion Week has been a crazy blur this year! I feel so fortunate to have attended some amazing shows - especially the Libertine show! Love when people inject a little fun into the fashion world - sometimes people take it way too seriously. I've also included some of my favorites from the Vivienne Tam show, which I wish I could wear starting tomorrow! Sadly, I'll have to wait until Spring.

Lastly, a good friend of mine found a snap of me on the NYFW instagram page. I can't believe it! To see the video they shot, see below:

And for a little outfit inspiration, here are some of my current favorites for what to wear and also some pieces I wore in the NYFW featured post:

Viva l'Italia

Feeling a little inspired by my Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily satchel I strayed from the normal black and white (lack of color) palette and wore a floral (gasp!) pencil skirt. Their ad campaigns are one of my favorites - I just want to jump right in and live inside them. I mean, there's a meme for this so it must be true:

I've beat up this bag quite a bit over the past two years but was able to restore it to its original condition courtesy of Cobbler Concierge. Seriously, they performed a miracle. It almost looks brand new!
